“Safe to remove hardware” message when unplugging AC adapter?

Hi, I got a really annoying problem here.
Each time I unplug the power cable on my computer (HP Compaq 6530b) a message appears saying that Netlink Broadband Gigabit Ethernet Device can be safely removed. Same thing appears when I plug the cable in – it says that the device is ready to use. It’s the exact behavior that any USB device has but we’re talking about AC Power Adapter here…
I use Vista but the same thing happens with XP and also with another model I had before (HP Compaq 6730b).
If anyone knows what the whole story is about I’ll highly appreciate any hint or answer.
Thanks in advance

It’s very odd that it’s ready to have your network adapter removed, have you installed the proper drivers for it?
Come to think of it.. I’ve had a similar problem with a HP DVD drive, that wouldn’t read DVDs/CDs but when I removed them it told me that it was safe to remove it. I’d just look for newer drivers for it (Google around) and if all else fails, check for support on Netlink’s website.
It’s hard to pin down a problem like this, so I’m limited as to how much help I can give. Still, try those, and if nothing works, go ask HP. :)
