Hp Compaq 610

whish laptop performace is for me?

i need help, im about to buy a laptop but im not sure which of these
two. 3gb hp dv4 with amd x2 64, or just pay less and go for the
hp Compaq 610 with intel core 2 duo and a 1gb ram?
i will use it for heavy work maybe runnig for 6 hours a day.
for watching movies, surfing the web,maibe a few games, but i dont
want a laptop that gets too hot, is 1gb enough? i need help?

Considering your needs, i think I’d go for the HP Dv4. The AMD processor on the Dv4 sounds like it will suit your needs, but I’d still suggest you look for a laptop with an intel processor, if possible.

That said, the Hp Compaq 610′s intel processor lacks power. At the very least, I’d look for an Intel Core 2 Duo with at least 2.0ghz. Any less and you’ll really feel the crawl as programs become more and more demanding on hardware. 1GB of ram will do for your needs only if the laptop has Windows XP; 1 gig on Vista will be awfully slow.

If you want to save a few hundred dollars AND get a decent machine, I’d recommend you look at used laptops on eBay. I know how scary browsing for a second hand laptop can be, but it’s well worth it.
