Hp Envy 14 Beats Edition has outstanding reviews for the latest laptops in the Envy series, in fact no other laptop gets more  recommendations than the 14.5-inch Hp Envy 14. The Beats Edition comes with a high-end Beats Audio sound system, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 switchable graphics, a 500 GB hard drive,  4 GB of RAM, and a 2.53 GHz Intel Core i5-460M processor. If you wish, you can upgrade the components at HP.com. Other features include an HDMI output and built-in Bluetooth, three USB ports, and a slot-loading DVD burner. The Beats Edition has a black design and red backlit keyboard, unlike the regular aluminum HP Envy 14. To help you tweak the equalizer settings, the manufacturer has  included an audio console.

For a laptop, the HP Envy 14 has a stellar sound system. The speakers pump out more bass than most laptops, and audio sounds loud and rich. The 1,366-by-768-pixel display has good viewing angles, contrast and clarity, however, the glass screen coating is very reflective. The keyboards also earned high marks for its chiclet-style keys that are spaced appropriately and quite responsive without being too soft.

Performance is excellent for the mainstream gaming as well as for nearly all computing tasks. YOu will get more than 72 frames per second playing “World of Warcraft” or “Unreal Tournament III” at medium settings. To conserve battery life, the ATI Radeon graphics include the option of using discrete or integrated graphics. Battery life lasts a little more than four hours in most tests, but this is not entirely unusual for a high-performance HP Envy 14.

Some consumers complain about the laptop’s weight, which is pretty heavy at almost 5.7 pounds.
