Hp Envy 14 Beats Edition has outstanding reviews for the latest laptops in the Envy series, in fact no other laptop gets more recommendations than the 14.5-inch Hp Envy 14. The Beats Edition comes with a high-end Beats Audio sound system, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 switchable graphics, a 500 GB hard drive, 4 GB of RAM, and a 2.53 GHz Intel Core i5-460M processor. If you wish, you can upgrade the components at HP.com. Other features include an HDMI output and built-in Bluetooth, three USB ports, and a slot-loading DVD burner. The Beats Edition has a black design and red backlit keyboard, unlike the regular aluminum HP Envy 14. To help you tweak the equalizer settings, the manufacturer has included an audio console.

Heating issue with Hp Envy 14?
Is anyone else having heating issues with HP’s new Envy 14? I have the i5-520m processor. While some reviews say it’s cool to the touch, the right side of my keyboard gets warm quickly and often. Not boiling, but it feels like the warm heat is coming through the keys. Maybe the fans aren’t turning on, any idea how to check for that?
I have an Envy 15-1050NR with the i7-720QM, 6GB’s and ATI 5830 with 1GB dedicated graphics. I was highly concerned about heat as well when I bought mine, but haven’t found to be an issue, and I’m sure mine will put out a lot more heat than yours considering its power. It’s my understanding that the Envy 14 and 15′s have two separate fans, one on the left, one on the right, and each has an independent thermostat so the fans will turn on only when needed. When I’m browsing the net and just checking e-mail, my fans runs at low speed. If I’m playing Starcraft 2 or another game, the fans typically will run at medium speed or full tilt, but there is still a little bit of heat coming from the palm rests and a little bit from the keyboard, but nothing too uncomfortable. I wouldn’t be concerned with it. If you want to check the fans, well… put your ear up to the side.
